My art is a combination of spiritual, perceptual and conceptual. I believe we are all connected by a connective mind or Collective Subconscious. In Sanskrit it could be called Alaya. If we are open to it we can all access it. Energy, forms and content flow from there. Each of our individual minds act like a sieve or strainer The collective flows threw this filter which is unique to each of us, yet comes from our common connection. This content is my art.
This filter that is unique to me is my base influence, which for me is often biology/nature and it’s forms. This meets with our cultural influences. Nature and Nurture together make up the screen and spaces of the sieve that collect the imagery from this universal mind.
The process of Transformation is Important to me. Capturing the the energy and imagery of the in-between states, where one thing is becoming something else yet hasn’t fully solidified, is where I find the most completion! Most of us would call that ambiguity, but for me those it feels clear and true. Art is magic!
